The HUD Section 203k is a program for the rehabilitation and repair of single family properties. Altering the physical environment of the home so as to remove hazards and provide an environment that is more functional for the individual is the basic definition of a home modification. Examples of home modifications include the installation of a ramp or a lift, and the alteration of a doorway so that you can enter, maneuver within, or exit your home unassisted. They may also include bathroom modifications or other alterations you need to move about your home daily in a safe environment.
